Minerals, plant fossils and geological finds, "Fossilia"
The museum "Fossilia" in Mölten presents the most beautiful fossil finds from the surroundings of Mölten and makes the fascinating geological history of this region come alive.
Along with the Bletterbach and the Seceda, Mölten is one of the only three sites in South Tyrol where plant fossils from the upper (late) Permian period have been discovered.
Particularly unique: fossilized tree trunks have been recovered in Mölten. Details such as growth form, branches, roots and proportions have thus been preserved and invite you to marvel.
A guided tour with our experienced experts is highly recommended.
The newly designed exhibition is barrier-free and offers exciting insights - both during the guided tours and the interactive experiences in our laboratory.
Our guided tours and laboratory experiences are aimed at all age groups, from curious children from the age of three to interested adults.
They are offered in German, Italian and English and promise fascinating discoveries in the world of fossils.
The laboratory
Minerals, fossils and geological specimens, Fossilia
Our laboratory offerings are specifically designed to appeal to the interests and needs of children and adolescents.
With lots of fun and creativity, young visitors experience an educational and entertaining adventure.
In our laboratory, the little ones can get active with creative handicrafts – small handicrafts made from natural materials that they can proudly take home with them.
Schoolchildren create their own projects from natural and reusable materials and carry out small experiments that impart knowledge in a playful way.
Our experts also explain the special effect of natural materials: they can help to reduce stress and anxiety and at the same time promote relaxation, creativity and concentration.
This turns every visit to the laboratory into an experience that not only imparts knowledge, but also boosts well-being.
The Fossil Museum has a fully equipped multi-purpose room that can be hired for events. The approx. 70 square meter room is particularly suitable for groups of up to 30 people. The seating can be arranged as rows of chairs or as conference seating. Alternatively, the room can of course be completely personalized and tailored to your needs.
